Immortals why are there so many titans
If the winner attempts to impose total destruction, it means their opponents will now fight to the death, possibly causing more casualties on the winner's side also.
Conditional Surrender allows both parties to negotiate terms, unlike No Quarter. Titans, like Gods, are immortal. This not only means that they do not age, but also that they cannot be killed.
While some fade in power and into obscurity, others are punished eternally with various tortures see: Prometheus. I'm not certain if this is addressed in the movie Immortals , but in the original mythology, the Titans were the progenitors of the Olympian gods. Cronos had made a habit of eating his children when they were born to prevent them from growing up to become threats to his power, so there wasn't much familial obligation there, but they may have spared the Titans simply because they were family.
So there you have it. There was no need for the Gods to slaughter those they'd vanquished since they were effectively dead anyway , buried underground for what they assumed would be the rest of eternity since there's absolutely positively no weapon on Earth powerful enough to release them.
Actually there is a confusion stated here. Chronos is actually a primordial diety as with gaia in Greek mythology who bore the first generation of titan's 12 of them. Those 12 also bore the second generation of 12 that over threw them. Then birthed some of what is referred as Olympian gods zeus being the youngest some would reckon oldest as he had to free his brothers from Chronus stomach as they had already been eaten. However back to point in hand 'Chronos' is basically considered father time and creator of the universe, gaia mother earth and a few other's that were primordial dieties.
Notice how 12 is referenced throughout most religions and myths. Also death and resurrection, as dyonisus was killed as an infant, zeus sewed him into his thigh and he was reborn.
But in Greek mythology gods and titans don't die, they fade when power of their domain is lost or taken control of hence being able to be overthrown. But does this century of fear from the cannibal Titans mean these gigantic monsters are immortal? Titans can only be killed by slicing the nape of their neck. Unless a blade opens up their neck, can Titans live forever?
By design, there are a lot more questions than answers in Attack on Titan. The Eldians a race of humans that can be turned into Titans were sent there after the Marleyans normal humans defeated them. The monarchy on Paradis used a Titan power to wipe the memory of its citizens to keep them from venturing beyond the walls. They ruled in a mythic prehistoric age until being overthrown by Zeus, a son of two of the Titans Cronus and Rhea.
They were generally portrayed in Greek and later art as being humanoid although often larger of stature than your average man, similar to most Greek gods. Examples include Cronus and Rhea :. Atlas and Prometheus :. In Greek mythology, Titans were not supposed to be beasts. They were just like the Olympian gods but they came before and actually gave birth to the Olympian gods.
None of the movies or shows that you mentioned are accurate because they were all shown as some sort of scary monsters. Not all of the Titans were actually evil.
The Greek god Zeus dethroned his father, the Titan king Cronos, and banned all Titans who sided with him to Tartarus, a prison used for judging and torturing wicked souls after death. In the original mythology, the Titans look just like Giants… And like the Gods, actually, as the Olympian gods are actually titans with great powers Zeus is the son of Cronos, the king of the Titans, in the original mythology.

The closest thing is Hercules's bow, used to win the Trojan War. The Gods and Titans fought in a ten year war called the Titanomachy in both myth and movie.
